The idea of the build is to take advantage of Assassin's Noxious Strike and Toxic Delivery nodes, in order to get 100% chance to bleed and 100% chance to poison on every hit, cover the entire screen with arrows thanks to Tornado Shot, and apply multiple stacks of both poison and bleed to every enemy on the screen. Dragonknight Class

Build Overview

Dragongnights are very dangerous melee fighters who are able to implement deadly magic in order to wreak even more havoc amongst their enemies. This Dragongnight build is based on Stamina, dual wielding melee weapons, and Bow usage which combined with Classe's toolkit makes it one of the best, and the most versatile DPS builds in the Elder Scrolls Online. It excels in dealing single target damage paired with huge Damage over Time effects, so it is perfect for Boss encounters. It ranks #3 on our ESO DPS Tier list.

We have decided to feature only one item set based on the best items for general usage. There are better setups for certain encounters and tweaks for either Boss fights or AoE clearing. If you would like alternative gear options included please let us know in the comments section below.

Attributes Priority

  1. Magicka -Determines the amount of the Magicka Abilities your character can cast. This stat improves your magic, and you are not a magician, so you should completely avoid it.
  1. Health - Increases your maximum health, and improves healing effects cast on you. Health is important for Tanks, you as a DPS should not put your points into it, unless you really want to boost your PvP capabilities at the expense of PvE DPS.
  1. Stamina - Put all of your points here. Stamina increases your mobility and avoidance in combat. It also increases the effectiveness of all Stamina-based skills and abilities. Damage of your Bow and Daggers is also affected by your total Stamina.

Primary Skillset
[Dual Wield - for Single Target and AoE DPS]

Venomous Claw (Dragonknight: Ardent Flame, morphed from Searing Strike) - an instant ability that deals Poison Damage, and applies the DoT effect which deals more Poison Damage over 8.5 seconds this effect deals more damage the longer it lasts
Steel Tornado (Weapon: Dual Wield, morphed from Whirlwind) - great AoE skill which deals Physical Damage, perfect for trash pulls and add heavy (3+ adds) Boss encounters
Rending Slashes (Weapon: Dual Wield, morphed from Twin Slashes) - an instant ability that deals single target Physical Damage and applies a 9-second Bleed effect, while also reducing enemy's movement speed by 40% for the DoT duration. This boosts Single Target DPS and gives some more Crowd Control potential
Deadly Cloak (Weapon: Dual Wield, morphed from Blade Cloak) - boosts AoE damage potential and gives much-needed defensive cooldown to boot. It lowers incoming AoE damage by 25% and deals Physical Damage to all nearby Enemies
Noxious Breath (Dragonknight: Ardent Flame, morphed from Fiery Breath) - deals poison damage to all Enemies in a cone in front of you, poisons them for 8 seconds and lowers their armor by 5280. Good in AoE engagements, and provides a nice debuff which increases enemy's physical Damage taken
Ultimate: Flawless Dawnbreaker (Guild: Fighters Guild, morphed from Dawnbreaker) - arms you with the Merida's Sacred Sword, and deals Physical Damage, and applies a Bleed effect to all enemies in front of you. Slotting this passively increases your Weapon Damage (this is the main reason for using it)

[Bow - Damage over Time]

Poison Injection (Weapon: Bow, morphed from Poison Arrow) - very good Poison Damage over Time spell, especially effective in Execute phases, because of its ability to deal 200% more damage to Targets below 50% Health
Endless Hail (Weapon: Bow, morphed from Volley) - one of the best AoE abilities in the game, it synergizes well with the Maelstrom Bow enchant and deals high amounts of Physical Damage
Rearming Trap (Guild: Fighters Guild, morphed from Trap Beast) - single target DoT, Crowd Control, and a Buff in the form of one ability; one of the most efficient skills in the game. It places a Trap, which lasts for 1 minute, under your feet, any enemy that triggers it takes Physical Damage up front, and over time, and gets immobilized for 6 seconds. Every Trap Trigger also increases your Critical Damage by 10%. This trap resets itself, so it can trigger multiple times during its uptime
Razor Caltrops (Alliance War: Assault, morphed from Caltrops) - powerful, but expensive Single Target and AoE DPS ability, great for Stamina Dgagonknight, because he can sustain it; it also provides some additional Crowd Control potential in a form of AoE slow
Molten Armaments (Dragonknight: Earthen Heart, morphed from Molten Weapons) - a solid buff that should be maintained at all times. It increases Damage from your fully-charge Heavy Attacks by 40% and gives you and your party a 20% Spell Damage boost; lasts for 30 seconds
Ultimate: Standard of Might (Dragonknight: Ardent Flame, morphed from Dragonknight Standard) - Very strong Single Target and AoE damaging ability, moreover it reduces Enemy's Healing Taken and increases your damage done while decreasing your damage taken. It can also immobilize Enemies in its influence area when activated by an ally. This is, no doubt, one of the best abilities in the Game

Below you will find the notable Passive Skills for this build. Please note that there are dozens of good passive skills available in the game, which gives a lot of room for customization, so you should treat the below-described passives as the rough guideline of what to look for with this build.
Slaughter (Weapon: Dual Wield) - Increases your Damage Done with dual wield abilities by 20% against Targets below 25% Health. Great for execute phases
Dual Wield Expert (Weapon: Dual Wield) - increases Damage of your off-hand weapon by 6%
Combustion (Dragonknight: Ardent Flame) - increases the damage of your Poison and Burning status effects by 25%; when you apply a Poison to your enemy, you gain 500 Stamina
World in Ruin (Dragonknight: Ardent Flame) - reduces the stamina cost of all your Poison based abilities by 25%, and increases damage done by your Flame by 6%
Accuracy (Weapon: Bow) - increases your Weapon Critical rating by 1095

Sets used in this build:

Hunding's Rage: Craftable Armor, Jewelry and Weapons Set available in all armor types. It is great for Stamina-based DPS builds, because of the 299 Weapon Damage increase. This set is a part of the base game, with the Crafting Stations located in The Rift (Trollslayer Gully), Bangkorai (Wether's Cleft), and Reaper's March (Broken Arch). Crafting it requires 6 traits researched per item; it can also be bought from other players. This set grants the following bonuses:

  1. (2 items) Adds 833 Weapon Critical
  2. (3 items) Adds 1096 Maximum Stamina
  3. (4 items) Adds 833 Weapon Critical
  4. (5 items) Adds 299 Weapon Damage

Stormfist Set: a Heavy, Medium or Light armor set which can be acquired in Tempest Island (located in Malbal Tor), and Glirion (the Redbeard's Chest). Set's armor class and the trait is RNG-based, so it is possible, that you will get Light or Heavy armor variant. The set grants the following bonuses:

  1. (1 item) Adds 129 Stamina Recovery
  2. (2 items) When you deal damage, you have a 10% chance to create a thunderfist to crush the enemy, dealing 1650 Shock Damage every 1 second for 3 seconds to all enemies within 4 meters and a final 8000 Physical Damage when the fist closes; it has an 8-second internal cooldown.

Briarheart Set: solid, bound on equip, medium armor, weapon and jewelry set which drops in Wrothgar, in the Overland content. It can also be bought from Guild Traders. This set grants:

  1. (1 item; Bow) Volley now deals 161 more Damage with each tick, and an additional 56 every time it ticks.

Bladestorm is a spinning attack similar to Cyclone/Whirlwind in Path of Exile/Diablo so as a Wolcen player, you will be most likely familiar with that playstyle. Bladestorm offers very good AoE and has very high pack clearing potential. It's currently the most popular and smooth Melee Attack in the game, so if you want to play a Melee character, you should definitely check it out! The following setup was made for a level 80 character with 80 Passives.

Important note:This is a beta version of our Bladestorm Spin-to-Win Build that we are currently working on. It works great on mid-tier levels, but since the game has just launched it wasn't thoroughly tested vs end-game enemies/Bosses, etc. You should expect updates and tweaks coming up soon. Still, if you follow it up as it is, you will surely enjoy

1. Gameplay

This is an extremely smooth Melee build that targets all enemies around you, dealing extremely quick Area Damage. It becomes a bit more complex against harder Bosses, as you need to combine several utility skills to deal significantly higher damage (Bladestorm is not your Impale Cyclone from PoE and it won't let you breeze through end-game on its own). For that purpose, you will be using Blood for Blood, which increases your Rend damage based on the amount of Health you and your enemies are missing, and also Bleeding Edge, which thanks to Unstoppable Momentum and Astral Orbit Passives, can be treated as Passive skill that creates Axes that orbit around you whenever you move, dealing damage in a circular area around your character. Sovereign Shout is also very important DPS-wise, increasing your Attack Speed and generating extra Rage. For the defenses, this build relies on high Health and Life Leech. You can also freely spend more points into Toughness if you feel squishy, it's one of the best and well-rounded attributes in Wolcen.

3. Attributes

Primarily, you want to focus Ferocity for increased Attack Critical Strike chance, and the highest DPS bonus, but you shouldn't forget about Toughness for increased Health and defenses. You can balance your stats between Ferocity and Toughness depending on your personal preferences. It's also critical to spend some points into Wisdom as it increases your chance to inflict ailments on enemies with your Attacks, whereas Bleeding inflicted by your Rend damage is your primary source of DPS in this build.

The Wild CardWhich greatly increases your Critical Hit Chance Score for both your Attacks and Spells
The Heat of BattleGrants you 25 Rage for each Hit taken, which grants very high bonus Rage on all levels, making it perfect for leveling and a must-have for end-game
Second WindWhenever you fall below 30% Health you gain a burst of Health Regeneration. Will save your life countless times and can be treated as a 'cheat death' mechanic
WARMONGER
Feast for the CrowsGrants insane Life Leech which is amazing for self-sustain. It applies to all damage types as well
Gods amongst MenGrants very high bonus Material damage, but makes you unable to deal other damage types. Since it's purely Physical/Rend build, we can ignore the downside of this Passive

[PRIMARY DPS] Bladestorm
Bladestorm is the build-defining skill which makes you spin around dealing decent damage to all enemies around you
Lethal Momentum is used to increase the Rage generated by killing enemies with Bladestorm, allowing you to sustain it with high Rage to benefit from the Maniac Slaughter Passive
Unfettered Determination which allows you to hold down the button to channel the skill for a longer duration
Cascading Rhythms is the most important Passive for Bladestorm, which increases it's hit frequency after you Critically Strike an enemy
[SECONDARY DPS] Bleeding Edge
Bleeding Edge makes you throw axes that orbit around you dealing additional damage to all enemies. Since they will last for a set duration and follow you around by using the following modifiers, they are a very convenient addition to this build
Unstoppable Momentum causes the Blades to continue spinning after you throw them
Astral Orbit causes the blades to follow you around wherever you move
Upright Fury can be used so that it doesn't consume too much Rage, but if you don't have any issues with that you can either use Despotic Perseverance or Revolving Guillotine for higher DPS
[UTILITY] Blood of Blood
Blood for Blood is an area Skill which deals a moderate amount of damage to enemies inside it and provides various buffs and utility bonuses
Fear Marches increases the damage against enemies inflicted with DoT (your Bleed in that case)
Organic Failure is our recommended option as it will slow down all enemies in the circle, letting you benefit from the Persistence Hunting Passive, and also provide solid defensive utility
Standing Straight increases your chance to inflict Ailments while inside the ring
Unstable Flesh causes enemies to explode occasionally when they are on low Life. It's great for clearing big packs of monsters, but also to deal extra damage against Bosses with adds spawned
[UTILITY] Juggernaut
(can be replaced Sovereign Shout for more DPS)
Juggernaut a purely defensive Skill that gives you a protective shield that absorbs incoming damage. Upon receiving a set amount of damage, it will explode damaging nearby enemies
Grudges Collected causes you to generate Rage when you receive damage while the Juggernaut is active
Perpetual Osmosis which increases the maximum possible damage absorption at the cost of emptying the Fore Shield
Cold Steel which reduces the cooldown
[UTILITY] Sovereign Shout
(can be replaced Juggernaut for more defensive utility)
Sovereign Shout a 'warcry' type of skill which grants various bonuses whenever used and generates significant amount of Rage. In its base form, it grants high bonus Attack and Spells Casting Speed
Hold the Line which grants a buff to all Elemental Resistances
A Princep's Lead that grants a bonus to Critical Strike Chance Score
Hostile Inspiration which increases the effectiveness of all buffs granted by the Sovereign Shout
[MOBILITY] Wings of Ishmir
Wings of Ishmir allows you to Leap into enemies (or Leap away from danger) which is a great way to increase our mobility and grant additional bonuses upon landing
Noble Bearing reduces the Skill's cooldown allowing you to Leap more frequently and benefit from the Skill's bonuses
Berzerker's Onslaught increases the amount of Rage generated by Wings of Ishmir
Stunning Apparatus grants you an additional buff for each enemy hit upon landing
Meritorious Crew which is the most important modifier for Wings of Ishmir, giving you (and your allies) a very high damage bonus after landing

We can't provide too detailed gear suggestions right now as there aren't many Unique and Legendaries revealed.
